SANTERIA IN CUBA, Santeria is an animist religion originating in West Africa.
Its strongest support is in Latin America, where many people practice both
Catholicism and Santeria. After being banned and driven underground for many
years, the Cuban authorities now turn a blind eye to Santeria, whose ceremonies
are sometimes put on for tourists.
These images were made at a private ceremony to which the photographer
was specifically invited, providing he didn't get in the way.
